Governor McAuliffe Announces Administration Appointments
Governor Terry McAuliffe announced additional appointments to his administration today. The appointees will join McAuliffe’s administration focused on finding common ground with members of both parties on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth.

Irma Palmer, Traveling Press Secretary
Irma L. Palmer recently graduated with a Master of Public Policy from the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. Prior to graduate school, she was U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu’s Press Secretary on the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship (SBC). She previously worked as SBC’s Deputy Press Secretary and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the U.S. Senate Democratic Policy and Communications Committee’s Press Assistant. Irma started interning on Capitol Hill in high school for Congressman John Spratt and returned each college summer and one winter break to intern for different Members of Congress, including: Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, Congressman John Larson, Congressman Jim Clyburn, and Senator Jim Webb. During one summer, she also volunteered in the White House’s Office of Presidential Correspondence. Irma holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Virginia and is from Fairfax, Virginia.
