Governor McAuliffe Announces Administration Appointments

 

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced additional appointments to his administration today. The appointees will join McAuliffe’s administration focused on finding common ground with members of both parties on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth.

Office of the Governor 

Kaci Easley, Executive Director of the Mansion 

Kaci Easley previously served in several governmental positions, including as an assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources, in the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Program Analyst, Project Manager at the National Finance Center, and an administrative officer at the Natural Resources Conservation Service. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Hampton University.

Michelle Kirby, Confidential Assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources 

Michelle R. Kirby first served as an Administrative Assistant, and then as a Special Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Education. Prior to that, Michelle volunteered with AmeriCorps in Hanover County. She was also the Program Director and Office Manager for the Positive Vibe Foundation & Max’s Positive Vibe Café, working with individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities in Richmond. A native of Hampton, Michelle graduated from York High School in Yorktown. She holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.

George Bishop, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles 

George Bishop previously served as the Executive Director of the Mansion. George has spent 30 years working in the legislative branch of government, almost entirely for the Virginia House of Delegates, where he served under five House Speakers and three House Clerks. In his role as Deputy Clerk for Administrative and Support Services for the House, George was responsible for managing various functions including information technology, human resources, procurement and logistics, and facilities. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he received a B.A. in English in 1985.
