Governor McAuliffe Announces Administration Appointments
RICHMOND – Governor Terry McAuliffe announced additional appointments to his Administration today. The appointees will join McAuliffe’s Administration focused on finding common ground with members of both parties on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth.
Office of the Governor
Charlotte Gomer, Press Assistant
Charlotte Gomer has been appointed to the position of Press Assistant in Governor McAuliffe’s Communications Office. Previously, she served as the Executive Assistant to the Secretary of Commerce and Trade. Before coming to the Governor’s Office, Charlotte served as the Capital Campaign Manager at the Virginia Capitol Foundation. Charlotte is a native of Richmond and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Denison University.
Delaney Perdue, Confidential Assistant to the Governor
Delaney Perdue has been appointed as Governor McAuliffe’s Confidential Assistant. Delaney has been with the McAuliffe administration since 2014, and is a former Governor’s Fellow. She has served as the Communications Manager for the Restoration of Rights Office, Executive Assistant to the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security and, most recently, as the Deputy Director of Scheduling. Delaney has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Virginia Tech.

Johnson Childress, Deputy Director of the Virginia Commission of the Arts
Johnson Childress has been appointed to the position of Deputy Director of the Virginia Commission of the Arts. Previously, Johnson has worked in various taxation and accounting roles at Charles Terry CPA, Continental Financial Services Company, Carpenter Company, Best Products, Markel Corporation, and Liqui-Box Corporation. Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Richmond and his Masters in Taxation from Virginia Commonwealth University.
