Governor McAuliffe Announces Administration Appointments

 

RICHMOND – Governor Terry McAuliffe announced additional appointments to his Administration today. The appointees will join McAuliffe’s Administration focused on finding common ground with members of both parties on issues that will build a new Virginia economy and create more jobs across the Commonwealth.

Office of the State Inspector General

Michael Westfall, Acting Inspector General
Michael Westfall has been appointed to the position of Acting Inspector General after previously serving as the Internal Audit Manager for the Virginia State Police. Prior to joining VSP Michael held several positions with the Chesterfield County Government including Enterprise Risk Management Coordinator, Director of Internal Audit, and Assistant Director of Internal Audit. Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also received his Master of Accountancy.

The Honorable Anne Holton, JD
Anne Holton is the former Secretary of Education of the Commonwealth of Virginia, First Lady of Virginia, and judge, Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. A graduate of Virginia’s public schools, she received her AB from Princeton and her JD from Harvard Law School. She is the proud parent of three Richmond public school graduates.

Jamelle Wilson, EdD
Dr. Jamelle S. Wilson serves as the fifth dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS) at the University of Richmond. Wilson earned a BA in English and a MT from the University of Virginia, a MA in English, Writing and Rhetoric from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a EdD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, also from the University of Virginia. Prior to her appointment as dean, Wilson served as Superintendent of Schools for Hanover County from 2011-2015. Before her appointment as superintendent, Wilson worked in Hanover County Public Schools as a classroom teacher, a lead teacher, an assistant principal, a principal and an assistant superintendent.
